![]() We haven't tried the backpack setting yet either (same with him facing out, I don't want anyone to have easier access to touch him.he's safer if he's facing me). ![]() So, with him strapped to my chest, people don't get anywhere near him (because if they try getting that close to me, they'll know better). It's easier because the infant car seat isn't taking up room in the shopping cart (you aren't supposed to put them on the top of the cart where toddlers sit because it isn't safe), but the main reason is that people like to poke their head into strollers or infant car seats for some reason, and I don't want anyone getting that close to my kid (I don't know what kind of germs they're toting around, plus, I don't know you!). I keep this carrier in the car and use it ALL THE TIME! This is the only way we grocery shop (with him strapped to my chest). ![]() This is the way I still carry him (I haven't faced him out yet because he's only 5 months and that isn't recommended until 6 months). When he was about 6 weeks old, I changed it to the "narrow seat" setting and started carrying him with his legs out. When he was an infant, I just rolled up a receiving blanket and placed it under his but and put him in it in the "frog leg" position with the carrier on it "wide seat" setting. I also used this to go on walks around the block, because he didn't do that great in the stroller just yet, he'd start fussing half a mile into the walk and want to be held. My son would wake up pretty soon after I put him down if he was napping, so if I needed to get stuff done around the house and couldn't just hold him, I'd put him in this to vacuum or put laundry away. I started using this pretty much as soon as I got home from the hospital. ![]() I chose the Airflow because we live in South Louisiana and it is HOT and HUMID here. I cannot sing enough praises for this carrier!!! I love it so much, I went ahead and bought the toddler one from the Lillebaby website because they had a good deal on them. ![]()
